Plant Controller - (Cottondale) in Tuscaloosa, Alabama For Sale

The Controller is responsible for all accounting personnel. Costs and budgets with review of the operations and criteria used for developing cost standards and expense budgets to establish an acceptable base for measuring product cost, expense control, and plant performance. Controller Responsibilities:Reviews expense budgets, profit plans, and forecasts by analyzing financial data to develop meaningful financial operating plans. Measures monthly operating performances against approved goals and objectives by analyzing financial data to develop meaningful financial operating plans. Prepares appropriation requests and the justification of same for capital expenditures to insure funds are being requested in accordance with Corporate guidelines. Prepares disbursement voucher, and performs as an authorized check signer to assure proper internal control. Insures proper account distribution for work order submitted through observation and review of work orders and the project status report. Coordinates annual audit activity to ensure that all schedules are prepared on an accurate and timely basis. Under the direction of the Plant Manager and Division Controller, is responsible for the preparation of closing statements. Prepares and audits monthly budget analysis and updates for adjustments to determine the accuracy of monthly budgets. Reviews all Plant procedures from time to time to determine cost-saving effectiveness and overall effectiveness of meeting the Plant's goals. Education:Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or equivalent. Seven to Ten years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment and/or public accounting (preferred - three to five years experience in automotive manufacturing environment). Strong analytical and communication skills. Ability to work well under deadlines. Ability to communicate daily measurables with the management team. Strong leadership / management skills with an emphasis in accountability. Experience in the Automotive industry. Experience with MFG Pro, SAP operating systems. Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM). Professional Certification or Advanced Degree (ie CPA, CMA, or MBA). Sarbanes-Oxley exposure.
