Accounting Analyst - Tax Analyst - (Tuscaloosa) in Tuscaloosa, Alabama For Sale
Performs advanced professional accounting activities for specialized, complex, and/or functional areas requiring the expert knowledge and professional application of accounting principles, practices and techniques in accordance with industry standards, current laws, and university policy. May supervise or lead lower level professional accountants and other staff. Additional Department Summary: This position performs analysis, research, and tax compliance activities in the areas of employee taxable fringe benefits and payroll taxes. Maintains policies and procedures and provides guidance to university personnel regarding tax matters. Required Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting or Finance and four (4) years professional accounting experience; OR a Masters degree in Accounting or Business and 3 years professional accounting experience; OR CPA and 3 years professional accounting experience. Skills and Knowledge: Strong verbal and written communications skills and organizational skills. Thorough knowledge of PC and spreadsheet applications. Ability to work in a self-directed manner.
