Meet Miss Personality...she won't let a rough start keep her down! Nina is a 6 month old (as of 2/13) pit bull terrier mix. She has a pretty fawn smooth coat with some white on her chest. Nina weighs 31 pounds now and should get to about 50 to 60 pounds when full grown. Nina got hit by a car in November. Her owner rushed her to the vet and they put a splint on her leg. The leg healed up but since they didn't do surgery (couldn't afford it) it is still a little gimpy. But it doesn't stop Miss Nina from playing at 100%!!! Unfortunately, they never came back to pick Nina up and bring her back home (or pay the bill). And owners did not respond to a Abandoned Animal notice sent by the vet. So we felt so sorry for her being down there almost two months so we finished her vet care and took her out of there and into a wonderful foster home.
Here's what the foster home has to say:
Nina is very playful and energetic! She loves to play and gets along with dogs, cats and people. Her back left leg is weak but she doesn't let it stop her from running and playing! She is so sweet and loving and she does like to cuddle after a day of play. She deserves a fun-loving,caring home! She is doing better with her crate training and she's doing better with the her food aggression towards other animals.
Nina will require a fenced yard and a home check will be done to confirm the fenced yard. She will want to be inside with you so this doesn't mean she is to be left in the yard all the time. If children in the household, they must be 12 or older due to her food aggression issues, just to be on the safe side. Nina is still a big puppy, thus she will need training to help her develop into a well mannered adult dog. She is still mouthy and jumpy like most puppies. We are working on her crate and house training. Nina is up to date on her vet care, neutered and is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. She is having fun living in a home environment again but very ready for a place to call her own home!
