The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at xxxx Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're all-volunteer and need at least a couple of days' notice to schedule appointments.

This very handsome long-haired Persian mix is Buck, named after "Buckbeak" from the Harry Potter franchise. He came to us by an owner who couldn't care for him any longer. We're in the process of carefully removing mats from his fur, but we don't believe his fur needs to be shaved. He is very friendly and happy! Buck purrs constantly around us and loves to roll on his back when being petted! He loves attention and has no behavior problems that we've seen. He needs a little adjustment, but should do well around another cat or two, and should do well around passive, mild-mannered dog. Visit our adoption center to meet Buck!

Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters. Read the descriptions thoroughly and note the specific personalities or special criteria we recommend (some are not good around kids, other cats, dogs, etc.). We cannot accept applications from minors or legal dependents. Read up on our adoption process .
