This little bundle of energy is Sadie Mae. She is a beagle/hound mix, short-haired, about 20 pounds and should be full grown. She is VERY sweet and she is great with our little boy, and our other small dog & cat. She is very social and loves to play with other dogs. She is less than a year old, so she's very active. I would recommend she needs a home in the country on some acreage, as she needs to be primarily an outside dog because of her breed. We have let her inside daily, and she has done well with house training, crate training, and leash training so far, but still needs some work and attention. She loves to play outside with toys & frisbees, and is great at playing "fetch." She will chase absolutely anything that runs from her (including you!) and would probably make a good hunting dog if someone wanted to train her. She is super active and very fast! But she is a cuddler too... she will curl up on the sofa with you after an evening of playing.
We would love to keep this little girl, but we live in a neighborhood and do not have a fenced yard. I don't think she would be happy in a fence anyway, since she is so active. We want to find her a great country home where she can play and be happy!
She has had a basic check at the vet, and is up to date on vacccines. She has also had a flea treatment and heartworm preventative this month. She does need to be spayed when she finds her forever home.
Sadie has a negative reaction to some (but not all) men. We had a potential home for her, but when she met the husband, she ran away and refused to go near him. So needless to say, we kept her and are trying again! We think her previous male owner may have been mean to her in some way. She has no problems with my husband or our male friends though. Her new home must have a home on some acreage, and for lack of a better phrase, she has to like you! A small adoption fee will be required.
